DOLLARS IN DRAG

I hope everyone is in good spirits today. I have been having a lot of fun with this blog. Hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am. Pulled out this great David Bowie Vinyl Bootleg this morning and really enjoyed listening to it. I forgot how different this boot is. Some Groucho Marx, Marianne Faithful singing on "I Got You Babe" and other strange in between song stuff....PIGS EYE.......Enjoy.......
SIDE ONE: 1984/Sorrow/Everythings Alright/Space Oddity/Supermen/Hang On To Yourself

  1. Thanks to Ed for this great boot. If you're a Bowie fan, this is a must-have. Contrary to popular mention, this is not from the Midnight Special TV show but a TV show they filmed at the Marquee Club in London on Oct 18, 19, 20 of 1973. The reason the shoot lasted for three days was they kept having to reposition cameras on a multi-camera angle shoot. The songs on this LP are from the first night. All three nights have been available in the bootleg world for a while but this is the only version with the bizarre sounds put between songs (Groucho Marx, water running, college chicks having a conversation, etc) The other three studio tracks on this LP are from his Arnold Corns period, all very rare stuff. Note the version of 1984 that opens the LP is a way early version, long before Diamond Dogs and contains a middle portion (or bridge) that was discarded on future versions of the songs. Quite simply, this version is far superior and is one of my favorite things of many about this classic bootleg.
