KRLA was an AM top-40 station in Los Angeles, in the early '60s. 1960's staffers included Dave Hull "The Hullabalooer", Bob Eubanks, Casey Kasem and Dick Biondi. The studio was located in Pasadena CA.
In 1964, during the Beatles rage, KRLA became the first southland station to air The Beatles.

A second LP of 21 tracks, "Son Of KRLA" was released in 1968.

  2. I live on the East Coast and received KRLA Son Of 21 Solid Rocks Stikes Again Vol. 3 and I believe Vol. 2 as a present from my brother stationed in San Diego in the Marines. There some songs like Brown Eyed Girl that I had not heard until receiving this album, nor after on the AM Top 40 stations in my region, and I listened. On one of the other various artist albums by KRLA I also for the first time heard Love with Little Red Book which did not get East Coast attention. I could have swore that other albums I received had Music Machine's Talk - Talk as well as Sly and the Family Stone Everyday People but researching this I can find them on the earlier volumes. This was a beginning of interest for me in various artist promotions. Favorites were some of Warner Brothers but my all time favorite is The Guitars That Destroyed the World.
